Bought this thing a couple years ago but I thought I should review it.  I was literally working myself sick and staying up until 3 am hand copying and printing disks was going to be the end of me.

I had considered another freelancer or part time employee but I decided I could have this thing for years and automate.

It's far from perfect.  Sometimes, like all automated duplicators the robotics will occasionally miss a grab.  There are also a couple funny software glitches with the machine and sometimes this $1000 (if bought separately) printer likes to leave lines on the disks and there are very few adjustments.

I had a hard time with it until I figured out that you have to start the machine before the computer.  NOT EXACTLY consumer stuff.

That said, this thing has been an absolute godsend and every night when I go to sleep at midnight instead of 4am I realize it's worth every penny.  There are less expensive units but for the extra $1000 you get 2 drives and it's built like a tank.

They're priced at around $3,300 and there's no telling if it will be DVD   upgradeable.

If not, I will use until Blue Ray is the norm in a couple years and sell it for what I can get.

Very good unit all in all if you want to get some sleep.  If all you do are weddings you probably won't need it but I do a ton of jobs where they want 20-100 copies.

Have a great one.

Has this really been here since 2008?

I've got to stop trusting that "unread posts" link!

I've always wondered if these things were worth the money.  I built a 4-burner PC and installed Nero.  We were doing 8-dvd sets for weddings, so Jean would only have to run it twice to have them all made, but for recitals, sporting events, etc. - when you need 100+, that thing would be worth its weight in gold.

Try an NS2100 from R-Quest.  Comes with both installable software and a web browser interface too, so you can run Windows (32 & 64 bit) XP, Vista, 7 etc and Mac and Linux all on the same box. You can do everything via the web browser, including design labels, drag & drop mastering, image archiving etc, so you don't have to install any software, printer drivers or anything.  True plug & play!

Also, it doesn't use your computer's CPU and literally sits on the network (gigabit) waiting for jobs.  You can queue up to 100 different jobs at a time, it has a 150 disc capacity and if you buy the BD version you can put DVDs in one hopper and Blu-ray in the other and it will auto select the media based on what you want to write!  It can also serialize the discs, or import from CSV files etc for customized unique labels.

I have one sat about 8 feet from me Smiley
