Mark and Trisha Von Lanken are based out of Tulsa Oklahoma, and have a lot of videos for see on their site.
http://www.tulsaweddingfilms.com/ Just click on the online store link. Their DVD's are pretty pricey. Most are around 100-125$ each.
They have some combo packs that can save some money for you.
There are two volumes of the Art of Moving Camera Techniques.
I bought these DVD's on the recommendation of my local association leader's suggestion. I needed something to give me an idea of what to shoot when I went into my first wedding. I think these do a good job of that. I can't see these helping people out who have done many weddings, unless you are bored with your style and want to learn how to add motion to your shots.
Volume 1- While this is about motion techniques, half of the dvd is about how to set up your camera properly. They go over subjects like depth of field, manual settings and why they are better, steps for framing a shot correctly, and they give and show examples for everything they do, even sometimes including on screen what settings they are using. This really helps to see the difference in what the iris settings combined with ND filter do and how they affect depth of field. The rest of the DVD is about how to move your body to get your camera to give you steady motion shots, and how to combine that with different lenses and motion stabilizers(they use a glidecam)
Volume 2- If you only get one, I would suggest this one, because they give a recap of how to hold the camera to achieve motion, and then they take you through Bridal Prep and Groom prep, showing what shots they used, followed by actual examples of how they used that in a wedding edit. They also cover how to shoot reception dances, and just overall romantic shots.
I think for beginners like myself, these DVD's are great. They are expensive, but if you're looking to add artful and beautiful shots to your wedding edits, then these have some great ideas.
4 out of 5 stars.
